Product Description
ER308 and ER308L stainless steel welding wires are two commonly used stainless steel welding materials.
Mechanical properties
ER308: The tensile strength of the welded joint is generally not less
than 520MPa, and the elongation is not less than 35%. It has good
strength and plasticity, and can meet the mechanical performance
requirements of most stainless steel structures.
ER308L: The mechanical properties are similar to those of ER308, but due
to the lower carbon content, the toughness of its weld metal may be
slightly higher, which is more advantageous in some occasions where
toughness requirements are high. The tensile strength of the welded
joint can usually reach more than 520MPa, and the elongation is not
less than 35%.
Welding characteristics
ER308: The arc is stable, the droplet transition is uniform, the spatter
is small, and the weld is beautiful. It has good welding
processability and is suitable for a variety of welding methods,
such as manual arc welding, gas shielded welding, submerged arc
welding, etc. It can better guarantee the quality and performance
of the weld, and has a certain adaptability to fluctuations in
welding parameters.
ER308L: In addition to the welding characteristics of ER308, due to its
low carbon content, less carbides are produced during the welding
process, thereby reducing the risk of intergranular corrosion
caused by carbide precipitation. Therefore, ER308L has better
welding effects when welding some stainless steel materials with
high requirements for intergranular corrosion resistance. At the
same time, it also has good crack resistance and can adapt to more
complex welding structures and working conditions.
